Making Local started as a space to connect small businesses to their shoppers, but turns out my super power is working with small businesses like yours!
How it started:
I’ve always been a maker, do-er, crafter and once upon a time I made and sold mid-century vibe macrame at markets. I vended at all types of events around the PNW and loved being part of the maker community. When the pandemic hit, I quickly realized that macrame wasn’t serving me any more and that I didn’t want to “make-to-sell” anymore - but how do I stay connected and involved with the wonderful group of vendors, that community of creatives? Insert the Making Local Markets! My background provided me the very specific tool set to start hosting markets and since I was living and working in Downtown Bothell, I knew it was the perfect place to start!
I couldn’t do any of this without the incredible support of my husband, Brad, and our bulldogs! They may not seem super helpful, but I promise they try.
