MAKING LOCAL MARKETS ARE:

Frequently Asked Questions

a pet festival featuring local pet-focused businesses, food and drink (for pups and humans!), handmade goods, training demonstrations, and more!
All vendors are from the PNW - like your neighbors in Mountlake Terrace, Bothell, Mill Creek, Seattle, Edmonds, Lynnwood, Shoreline, and all over the Puget Sound!

located in Mountlake Terrace at the Evergreen Playfields Track - the southern-most field off of 56th & 244th.

Mountlake Terrace has a Light Rail Station! Wag Fest is only about 1 mile, or a 20 minute walk, from the Light Rail station!

a great way to spend the day in MLT - bring your pups and check out the festival then stay for dinner and drinks or check out one of the fabulous parks nearby!

  • This is separate for each vendor. Nearly all take cards, only some take cash.

Some also have Venmo or PayPal options as well.

  • Keep scrolling! There’s a whole vendor list, divided out by product category, with links to each vendor’s website or social media.

Sometimes vendors change last minute, but the website will be as up to date as possible so you can plan accordingly.

  • I am always seeking volunteers! If you’re interested and available on the day of the market, please email me, Sarah [hello@makinglocal.com], to coordinate on a time slot and tasks that works for you!

    Example volunteer tasks:

    • helping vendors locate their booth spot during load in [9am-11am]

    • covering restroom / food breaks for vendors by watching their booth [12pm-3pm]

    • supporting load out and clean up by moving trash bins, monitoring traffic flow of vendor vehicles, and collapsing tents, etc. [4:30pm-6:00pm]

If a student* needs community service hours, this is a great opportunity! I’m happy to sign off a form with description of the work or time volunteering. *If the student is under 18, for liability purposes, I will need a parent/guardian permission slip along with it.

  • There is ample free street parking surrounding the festival and in the residential areas within a block or two away.

There are public parking lots at the City parks and other sports fields in the area. Parking is also available just south of the festival at the City’s Recreation Center.

There are bus transit stops on 56th within a few blocks of the festival, and, we’re only about 1 mile from the MLT Light Rail Station [just a 15-20 minute walk]. We do recommend carpooling or alternate modes of transportation when possible.

  • YES PLEASE! This is an outdoor market and pets are allowed and welcomed! Please make sure that your pets:

    • are on leash or contained (backpack, stroller, etc)

    • are not causing a scene or barking excessively

    • and please bring your own water, poo bags, and be respectful of vendor’s property, tents, tablecloths, etc. as well as the grass field

Plus! This is the perfect opportunity to stock up on resources, locally made treats, toys, and pet accessories, and and more!

  • This festival strives to be compliant and welcoming to strollers, wheel chairs, and other mobility needs! If you feel your needs aren’t met, please let Sarah, the event host, know via email so she can make adjustments and improvements.

The site is relatively flat, with some slopes from parking areas. However, the main market area is a grass field with areas of dirt track that may be a little more challenging for some types of wheels.
